Cancer Care

Fremont Health offers a full range of advanced cancer diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgical options.

At Fremont Health, we bring the technical, scientific side and the softer, personal side of cancer care together to heal the whole person. Here’s how:

  1. We recognize the uniqueness of each patient. Our care providers meet each week to evaluate the treatment plan for each patient dealing with cancer. This evaluating team, called the Tumor Board, consists of Radiation Oncologists, Surgeons, Medical Oncologists, and other medical professionals who use evidence-based guidelines to determine their plans. By staying on top of the latest studies—which are constant developments in cancer care—this team helps ensure the best possible outcome for patients.
  2. We provide resources to help patients with their non-medical needs. Patients with questions can find books, brochures, and a computer for research in the Cancer Resource Center. Patients struggling to cope with the many facets of their condition can attend support groups. Clergy are available to help with spiritual needs, and we offer free hats and turbans to patients who would feel more comfortable wearing them.
  3. We stay with patients throughout the cancer journey. From diagnosis through follow-up treatment, our providers offer guidance, education, and counsel—not canned lines about cancer, but personal, informed explanations of each patient’s best options.

Fremont Health's cancer program has earned Accreditation with Commendation, the highest level of recognition given by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC). Only seven percent of hospitals in the country can claim this honor.
