Rehab Staff

 Jo Giddens, OTR/L

Jo has been a part of Fremont Health Medical Center since 1976, where she started her career as a Medical Social Worker after graduating from Midland Lutheran College. She then went on to pursue her degree in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in 1993. Jo is currently the Rehab Manager in charge of operations, inpatient services, and various compliance and clerical oversight. Jo enjoys spending time with her family, quilting, gardening, reading, and taking trips to Lake of the Woods in Minnesota.

Lance Shillcutt, MPT, CSCS

Lance is a physical therapist with extensive experience in outpatient orthopaedics. He holds a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and coordinates Fremont Health Medical Center's GolFit program, a performance enhancement program for golfers of all ages. Lance is originally from Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Southwest Baptist University where he obtained a B.S in biology and his Masters in Physical Therapy. He was also a 3-year starter on the SBU soccer team and named to 3 All Conference teams. Lance has been with Fremont Health since 2002.

 

Keith Weinhold, MPT

Keith, originally from Beatrice, graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and received his Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2000. Keith, who joined Fremont Health Medical Center's staff in 2007, is also functionally fluent in Spanish. His particular interests include rehabilitation of athletes and biomechanic analysis of overhead athletes and runners. His hobbies include volleyball, rafting/kayaking, and mountain biking.

 

Jeni Reichmuth, MSPT

Jeni received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1994 and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. She practices in a variety of clinical arenas such as sports medicine, geriatrics, work-related injuries, and pediatrics. Jeni joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 2001 and was instrumental in developing the "Health in Balance" program, designed to improve balance and mobility. Jeni enjoys travel, participating in volleyball and running activities, and attending college sporting events. 

 

Theresa Homan, PT

Theresa graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1982.  She has practiced in a variety of settings from general inpatient and outpatient care, wound care, and home health, but her primary area of expertise and practice is pediatrics. Theresa has been with Fremont Health Medical Center since 1990. She enjoys gardening, reading, and a variety of physical activities and sports.

 

Nancy Hoppes, PT

Nancy is a 1974 graduate of UNMC with a BS in Physical Therapy. Nancy has worked in acute care hospitals, school systems with special needs children, Home Health Care, and skilled nursing home settings. She joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 2007. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys biking, hiking, and traveling to experience new cultures and meet people.

 

Kate Kuester, DPT

Kate joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 2008. Originally from Concord, NE, She graduated from Wayne State College in 2005 with her Bachelors Degree in Applied Human and Sport Physiology, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2008 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Kate has a great interest in women's health and continues to pursue further education in the area. Kate and her husband enjoy sports, outdoor activities, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Travis Charter, PTA, LMT

Travis has been a Physical Therapist Assistant since 1997, and a licensed massage therapist since 1993. He joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 2002. Because of his years of experience, he provides services for nearly every area of physical therapy offered at FAMC, including inpatient, outpatient, aquatics, and home health. Travis graduated from North East Community College in Norfolk in 1997 and received degrees in Business Leadership and Ministry from Grace University in 2011.

 

 

John Koenig, PTA

John graduated from Penn Valley Community College in 1992 and has been at Fremont Health Medical Center since 1997, where he has worked in a variety of settings. His clinical expertise is in the area of orthopaedics, neurological rehab, and aquatics. John served in the US Navy. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and cooking and his black labs.

 

Tammy Bures, PTA

Tammy graduated from Wayne State College with a degree in Exercise Science and is a 1997 graduate of Clarkson College Physical Therapist Assistant program in Omaha. She has been in Fremont Health Medical Center's Rehabilitation Department since her graduation. Tammy's primary responsibility is Home Health physical therapy. Tammy enjoys reading, camping, exercising, and keeping busing with three children. Tammy was the Nebraska Hospital Association 2007 Caring Kind Recipient for Fremont Health MedicalCenter.

 

Melissa Carlson, OTR/L

Melissa joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 1990.  She originally was hired as a certified nursing assistant and worked in Dunklau Gardens while attending college at Midland Lutheran and Creighton University. She joined the Occupational Therapy department in 1993. Melissa's primary responsibility is home health care occupational therapy. She also has interests in outpatient hand orthopaedic injuries and low vision. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and scrapbooking.

 

Brenda Halbmaier, OTR/L, CHT

Brenda is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist. She is also certified in Ergonomic Assessments. Brenda graduated from Creighton University in 1996 with her Occupational Therapy Degree and has worked at Fremont Health Medical Center since September of 1996.  Brenda received her hand certification from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission in 2003. She specializes in the treatment of hand/upper extremity injuries and industrial rehab. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and being with her family.

 

Denise Schultz, COTA/L

Denise is a 1996 graduate of Clarkson College's Occupational Therapist Assistant program. She joined Fremont Health Medical Center in 1997 and has extensive experience in the areas of geriatrics, acute care, and outpatient rehab. In her leisure time, Denise enjoys family time, scrapbooking, reading, traveling, and going for motorcycle rides with her husband.

Ruth Anderson, ST, CCC

Ruth attended Kearney State College where she received her Bachelors degree in Speech Pathology and her and Masters of Science degree in 1984. Ruth is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).  She specializes in dysphagia, stroke, and head injury rehabilitation and has been with Fremont Health Medical Center since 2005. Her hobbies include reading, bike riding, taking long walks, and scrapbooking.
