About Me

Scope of practice: Surgery of gastrointestinal tract including gall bladder and appendix.  Upper and lower endoscopy.  Hemorrhoid surgery. Placement of vascular access devices to be used for dialysis and administration of chemotherapy.  Surgery of the breast for cancers and benign issues. Removal of skin cancers and noncancerous lumps. 

Additional information: Dr. Wiesen initially did training in rural family medicine.  During that training he realized that he had a passion for surgery and elected to pursue additional training in surgery.  He is also passionate about caring for cancer patients and currently serves as the Cancer Liaison Physician for Fremont Health.  Fremont Health’s cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer and during the most recent site visit in 2015 received commendations.
