Dr. Galligan, who has been in practice in Omaha since 2006, received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine, where he went on to complete a general surgery internship. He later became an orthopaedic resident at the University of Missouri in Kansas City before completing his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the Foundation for Orthopaedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research (FOARR) in Houston, TX. In 2016, Dr. Galligan spent several months in fellowship training with the internationally renowned arthroplasty surgeon, Dr. Peter Devane, in Wellington, New Zealand. As part of his training, Dr. Galligan focused on total hip and total knee arthroplasty for a variety of arthritic conditions of the hip and knee.
The combination of fellowship training in foot, ankle, hip and knee gives Dr. Galligan an unmatched level of understanding of conditions of the entire lower extremity and the relationship between each part of the human body, including how pathological conditions of one region might after the others.
Throughout his career, Dr. Galligan has served as first aid stand physician for the Kansas City Royals baseball team and assisted in physician management for the Houston Rockets and Rice University athletics.
Much of Dr. Galligan's free time is spent with his family. He and his wife have three girls who are actively involved in gymnastics and dance.
