Goals and Objectives 2010

The hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers at FAMC’s Center for Wound Healing have been made available to cancer patients who exhibit long term complications related to radiation therapy involving the gastrointestinal tract, urinary bladder, soft tissue healing problems, or radiation osteonecrosis.

Consultant was hired to evaluate the Oncology Service Line with a strategic and operational analysis of cancer services to prepare for future developments and changes in healthcare delivery.

Community Outreach:

The annual public colon cancer screening program was improved to be specifically promoted to individuals who have never been screened and to use kits that provide fewer false positives.

Performance Improvement:

A pilot project was started to improve the nutritional status of cancer patients being treated through FAMC. The project will test the process for identifying patients and evaluating the results of nutritional counseling.
