Hydration is very important for athletes.  Being dehydrated by even 2% can decrease performance by 10%.

Tips for proper hydration:

  • Drink 2-3 cups of water 2-3 hours prior to your workout
  • Drink water or sports drinks every 15-20 minutes throughout the training session
  • After the workout, replace each pound of body weight lost with at least 2 cups of water.

Staying well hydrated can prevent muscle cramping, help regulate body temperature, and get rid of unwanted waste.
