Dunklau Gardens Awarded 5-Star Quality Rating
Dunklau Gardens has been awarded a Five-Star Quality Rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The Nursing Home Compare website ( contains information to help individuals, family members, caregivers, and the public find and compare the quality of nursing homes more easily. It includes over 17,000 Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing homes nationwide.

“This achievement – being awarded the highest quality rating from CMS – is recognition and validation of the consistently excellent quality of care we provide at Dunklau Gardens,” said Rachel Reiman, Administrator, Dunklau Gardens. “Our team of professionals passionately pursues excellence in quality and service because that is what our residents and patients expect and deserve. And as the only nursing home in the area physically attached to a hospital, that next level of expert care is easily accessible, should the need arise. That really gives family members peace of mind.”

The Nursing Home Compare website assigns each nursing home a rating between one and five stars, based on three categories: health inspections, quality measures, and staffing levels. Nursing homes with five stars are considered to have above-average quality compared to other nursing homes in that state.

Dunklau Gardens at Fremont Health offers newly constructed large private and semi-private suites for long term care residents. The dedicated short term rehabilitation wing, named in honor of Dr. A. J. Merrick, provides rehabilitative care for orthopaedic, other post-surgical, and medically complex patients who need additional recovery time before returning home. It features a private dining area and spacious indoor and outdoor therapy areas. Two new healing gardens offer patients, residents and family members a place to visit, relax and reflect.
