Policies

  • Patients are encouraged to attend and participate in all scheduled unit activities and therapies.
  • Patients will be assisted in maintaining good personal hygiene.
  • Patients are encouraged to follow the dining schedule; meals will be served in the day room or dining room.
  • Snacks are available.
  • Patients are encouraged to be out of bed during the day unless a medical condition necessitates ordered bed rest.
  • Patient’s room door must be kept open at all times.
  • Patients are not allowed to visit in other patients’ rooms.
  • Visitors are encouraged and may visit during arranged hours.
  • Music devices or radios are not allowed.
  • Phone calls are encouraged to take place during unscheduled activity time.
  • The door to the unit is kept locked for your safety and security.
  • The staff has the right to require that you open any packages received in their presence.
  • You are encouraged to take any prescribed medications on time. You will receive information on your medications before they are given to you.
  • The MFH Behavioral Health inpatient unit will not be responsible for the loss of personal items during your stay. Please leave valuables at home.
  • To maintain safety on the unit, sharp items may not be kept on your person or in your room. These items will be kept in a secure place for your use.
  • The MFH Behavioral Health inpatient unit is a smoke-free environment, as are all MFH properties.
  • Patients are encouraged to be dressed in street clothes during the day.
  • Clothing, food and personal belongings are not to be shared among patients.
  • Patients are encouraged to remain in their rooms between bedtime and 6 a.m. to promote a restful environment.
  • Visitors must be 19 years of age or older.
